Happy St. Patty's Day!

I'm a proud Irish tart! Being first generation and all. My mother grew up in Dublin in the late 70s right at the peak of punk rock music and when music was taking it's leap into new wave. She has wonderful stories about shows she's attended, such as The Stranglers, Boomtown Rats, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Depeche Mode, and many more that I wish I was able to be a part of. Her most memorable story is when she would see u2 before their prime. They use to perform at the Dandelion Market in Dublin, which has been closed down now for some time. Just funny picturing the young u2 men wandering around streets of Dublin late 70s garb. Anyhow, I'm happy to have this influence in my life. Growing up I was always exposed to interesting groups and talented artists. It's safe to say my parent's passion for music rubbed off on me. As my aunt said, "You have the weird music gene!" Of course in this case, weird, being good ;) This influence has been nothing but positive in my life. It has allowed me to become more open minded about many things, not only music.
