XTC - English Settlement (1982)

Seems the more I travel, from the foam to gravel

One of my favorite bands of all time. Short time follower (circa 2006), long time listener...
I remember my dad had Drums & Wires on vinyl and being a kid staring at the album art in wonderment. "Ten Feet Tall" was my favorite song but I had no idea who XTC was. Growing older and more into post-punk music I sort of re-discovered them. This is the second album I heard from XTC and one of my favorites. While Drums & Wires will always have a special place in my heart, this one sort of fell into my hands. I also think Andy Partridge has one of the coolest voices and snarls in rock music. Andy & Colin Moulding's vocals always compliment each other so beautifully. Their voices are not entirely similar but go so well together. It's heaven. Like Martin Gore & David Gahan. Some of my favorite tracks from this album is "Runaways," "Ball & Chain," "Jason & The Argonauts," & "Leisure." If you're new to XTC please give them a listen. Arty, unusual & nervous...a most excellent combination.
