Versus - Secret Swingers (1996)

Excellent album by another underrated group. One of my favorite 90's alternative rock album by New York City's, Versus. The band formed in 1990 with Richard Baluyut, Fontaine Toups and Edward Baluyut. They were also part of the label, Teenbeat, which was also contained DC's indie darlings, Unrest. It is apparent that they named their band name after the Mission of Burma album, Vs. (Which is one of the BEST post-punk albums ever made) And I can totally see the American post-punk influence in their music, which is a great reason why this band works so well, imo. I really wanted to get this out here a while back but I couldn't record a good copy. Anyway, I did the best I could and I think it turned out pretty good. Yes, I'm still trying to figure this LP to computer player! But it's still a terrific example of one of the most underrated albums of the 90s. If you enjoy Mission of Burma, Pavement, Unrest then you'll probably appreciate this one.
