Juliana Hatfield - Become What You Are (1993)

She's such a sucker...he don't wanna fuck her.

I love Juliana Hatfield. I think she's so cool. This is such a fun, nostalgic album for me. I remember hearing "My Sister" for the first time. I love her sweet voice. From far away it's cute, but up close it's full of anger, emotion, distress, and disgust. I think this is such a great intro to her work. And I love the guitar work. Every single song is catchy and unique. Her views on women, beauty, love, is truly inspiring. Sometimes the best songs are the simplest ones. With straight forward lyrics, catchy guitar riffs, and shy rage. If you like 90s alternative stuff like Kim Deal or even Pavement I think you'd enjoy this. Here's a song preview below.
