The Human League - Dare (1981)

You know I am no stranger, I know rules are a bore...but just to keep you from danger, I am the law

One of the pinnacle synth groups from the 80s, The Human League were one of the biggest new wave acts. They were more than "Don't You Want Me" & "Keep Feeling Fascination." They went darker and catchier ... If I dare to say. Reproduction remains one of my favorite Human League albums to this day but Dare is the right amount of pop and dance to remain nostalgic and fresh. I remember hearing a handful of their songs on a mix tape my uncle John (RIP) made in the 80s along with Spandau Ballet, Siouxsie & Kraftwerk. I thought it was so cool, and I was in a car with a friend who probably thought I was a weirdo for indulging in such beautiful music :)
It's not for everyone...but what is? I think this is some of the coolest music to come from the 80s, especially from the new wave/synth pop genre. Very nostalgic, unique, dark, yet poppy and fun. This is a great dance album. Some of my faves are "I Am the Law", "Seconds" & "Sound of the Crowd."

Enjoy :)
