Apologies for the lack of posts lately. But I have returned back into the groove. I have been listening to so much 80's music I decided to take a step back into the late 70s. The post-punk era is a favorite of mine mainly because of it's creativity, clever use of synth sounds, and also how beautifully the songs are put together. Looking back, I remember my mom conversing with me about the X-Ray Spex and how she thought the lead singer, Poly Styrene, was such an oddball. In a good way of course! She described her having braces that her look was just so bizarre. And apparently she was a young thing when this was released! Maybe around 20. But this album is such a lovely breath of fresh air. Poly is awesome, and I think it's so cool that there was a time when young artists expressed themselves in such creative ways. I fantasize that music will one day change and a new movement will emerge. Polly passed away last April from breast cancer. Devastating, but her music and punk girl attitude will forever live on! Thank you Polly for making music enjoyable and fun. I'm happy you were able to share it with the world!
